It was gratifying to receive more than 300 votes in the Top Ten Session Cases poll, some from as far afield as Australia, Canada, India and the USA.

Donoghue v Stevenson was the clear winner, as might have been forecast but Moorov was not too far behind it in the voting. The other cases voted for may well have been influenced by the series of pieces published in SLN over the past month but two of the ‘top ten’ (MacCormick v Lord Advocate and Moncrieff v Jamieson) did not figure in that series. All of the pieces contributed by those writing about their own 'Top Case' may be found elsewhere on these pages
